Time for new shades

I went out last night & lost my sunglasses. My lemon yellow Ray Bans have been my signature accessory for 3 years..
I felt lost this morning scrambling through my briefcase and realizing I left them on the table at Tavern on the Park. (great date… more on that later) I had planned my outfit around these glasses…. Luckily, I had a back up neon accessory to add to my ensemble. Although it didn’t help the barista at Starbucks recognize me…. she couldn’t see my shoes. 

Fancy Change

Sitting at the bus stop. Counting out change… Not even all quarters. This is the one time I would actually appreciate a Sacagawea dollar. It’s gold, thicker than all the other coins. It’s expensive looking change. And that is what I feel like right now. Expensive looking change. Carrying a Prada brief case, wearing Prada wedges and my Gucci fanny. Well it’s actually “fucci” but everything else is real. 
A recessionista knows to buy expensive handbags, one piece of expensive jewelry…your signature piece, one that validates all of your good costume jewelry. Don’t do diamonds. Just don’t. They’re too difficult to fake. Stay fit. Keep your hair long. Natural. Know what to highlight and what to play down. But remember recessionista. Turn your Prada bag around when you hop on the 20.
